In the second quarter of 2024, the performance of the top 5 virtual pet applications on iOS in Italy showcased diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Pengu - Raise Virtual Pets from SLAY GmbH saw significant growth. The app's revenue started at $3K in early April and steadily increased, peaking at $62K in mid-June. Downloads also surged, beginning at 696 and reaching a high of 4.9K in mid-May before tapering off to 1.7K by the end of June. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting at 1.7K and peaking at nearly 15K in late May, then stabilizing around 9.7K by the end of the quarter.
Applaydu family games by FERRERO TRADING LUX S.A. experienced a significant drop in downloads, starting at 19K in early April and declining to 428 by late June. Weekly active users followed a similar downward trajectory, beginning at 37K and decreasing to around 6.7K by the end of the quarter. This app did not generate any revenue during this period.
My Talking Tom 2 from Outfit7 Limited had a stable performance with slight fluctuations. Revenue remained low, peaking at $31 in early June. Downloads varied, starting at 1.3K and reaching a high of 2.9K by the end of June. Weekly active users remained relatively steady, starting at 20K and increasing to 24K by the end of the quarter.
My Talking Tom, also from Outfit7 Limited, showed a mixed performance. Revenue was sporadic, peaking at $22 in mid-April but dropping to zero in several weeks. Downloads saw a notable increase from 1.1K in early April to 2.8K by the end of the same month, then stabilized around 1.4K by late June. Weekly active users showed a peak at 31K in late April, with numbers generally fluctuating around 23K throughout the quarter.
My Talking Angela 2, another title from Outfit7 Limited, displayed a consistent increase in revenue, starting at $27 in early April and climbing to $65 by mid-June. Downloads fluctuated, beginning at 1.3K and reaching 1.6K by the end of June. Weekly active users saw minor ups and downs, starting at 8.7K and ending at around the same figure by late June, with some peaks and troughs in between.
