In Q2 2024, the performance of the top 5 wellness apps on the iOS platform in the United States revealed interesting trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides a comprehensive look at these metrics.
Calm experienced a steady decline in revenue, starting from approximately $865K in the first week of April and dropping to around $637K by the end of June. Downloads followed a similar downward pattern, beginning at about 46K and ending at roughly 33K. Weekly active users saw fluctuations, peaking at approximately 1.07M mid-April but decreasing to around 914K by the end of the quarter.
Headspace: Sleep & Meditation showed relatively stable revenue throughout the quarter, with minor fluctuations between $352K and $388K. Downloads remained consistent, averaging around 14K to 16K weekly. Weekly active users peaked at around 368K in late April before gradually declining to approximately 320K by the end of June.
Hatch Sleep demonstrated a more stable performance. Revenue fluctuated slightly, peaking at about $288K in late April and stabilizing around $217K to $243K towards the end of June. Downloads remained relatively constant, averaging around 20K weekly. Weekly active users showed a slight increase, reaching approximately 847K by mid-June.
ShutEye®: Sleep Tracker, Sound saw a significant drop in revenue from about $324K in early April to roughly $156K by late June. Downloads also decreased sharply from around 152K to approximately 56K. Weekly active users followed a similar declining trend, starting at about 253K and dropping to around 113K by the end of the quarter.
BetterSleep: Relax and Sleep exhibited varied performance. Revenue fluctuated, peaking at about $238K in early April and dropping to around $127K by late June. Downloads spiked to approximately 148K in early June before plummeting to about 8.1K by the end of the month. Weekly active users saw a significant increase to about 687K in early June but dropped to roughly 439K by the end of the quarter.
