In the final quarter of 2020, the automotive app category in Brazil witnessed varied performances across leading applications on the Android platform. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers insight into the download figures, revenue, and active user trends for these popular apps.
Android Auto, developed by Google LLC, showed a decrease in weekly downloads starting at 6.7K in the last week of September and ending at 5.6K in the final week of December. The app's weekly active users also saw a downward trend, dropping from 773K to 578K in the same period.
Android Auto for phone screens, another offering from Google LLC, experienced a slight fluctuation in downloads, with a peak of 4.6K in mid-October and a low of 3.5K at the end of November. The weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 1.4K throughout the quarter.
Drivvo - car management, a native Brazilian app, showed an increase in both revenue and downloads as the quarter progressed. Revenue grew from $259 to $340, while downloads saw an uptick from 2.5K in late September to 2.8K by the year's end. Active users climbed modestly from 16.1K to 17.3K.
Autolink, despite not generating revenue, had a steady presence in the market. The app's downloads saw a slight decline from 2.6K to 2.1K over the quarter, while weekly active users peaked at 4.1K in mid-December before falling to 3.9K.
Lastly, Car Scanner ELM OBD2 from Russia-based publisher 0vZ, showed a positive trajectory in revenue, climbing from $57 to $106, with a peak at $141 in the penultimate week of December. Downloads fluctuated around the 2.2K mark, and active users grew from 4.4K to 4.6K during the quarter.
