In the final quarter of 2020, the baseball gaming category on Android saw varying performances among the top contenders in the United States. Data from Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
MLB 9 Innings 24, published by Com2uS, experienced a revenue trend that peaked at $334K in the last week of December, despite a general decline from $253K at the end of September. Downloads showed a significant drop from 21K to 4K in early November, but recovered slightly to 6K by year's end. Weekly active users declined from 89K to 53K in November, picking up modestly to 63K by December.
BASEBALL 9, from playus soft, saw revenues that fluctuated around the $15K to $20K range, ending at nearly $14K. Downloads peaked at 11K in late November but declined to 4K by the close of December. The app's active users maintained a steady range, with a high of 179K in early November, dropping to 127K by the end of the quarter.
HAEGIN Co., Ltd.'s Homerun Clash showed revenues that were relatively stable, starting at $25K and ending the quarter at $26K. Downloads saw a decline from 10K in late September to around 5K in December. Active users also saw a slight decrease from 37K to 29K over the same period.
Glu's MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2020 stood out with its revenue peaking at $426K in the last week of December, despite a general downward trend from $401K in late September. Downloads dipped from 11K to 2K, and active users saw a decrease from 114K to 74K over the quarter.
Lastly, Baseball Heroes by Zynga, which generated no revenue, had downloads that increased significantly from 2K to 9K in the week leading to December 21st, before dipping to 6K. Active users showed growth from 11K at the end of September to a peak of 16K in the third week of December, ending the quarter at nearly 13K.
These figures highlight the dynamic nature of the mobile gaming market, with Sensor Tower providing further insights into the performance and trends of these baseball game applications.
