In the fourth quarter of 2020, the UK's dating scene continued to buzz on mobile platforms, with several top dating applications showing varied trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into the performance of these apps during this period.
Tinder Dating app. Meet People, a leading player in the market, saw its revenue fluctuating around the $110K to $120K mark, maintaining a relatively stable trend. Downloads peaked at 18K in late November, while weekly active users showed a declining trend from 858K in late September to around 709K at the year's end.
Bumble: Dating App & Friends also experienced some fluctuations in revenue, with figures ranging between $28K and $37K. Downloads started strong at 17K in late September but saw a decrease to 10K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users hovered around the 500K mark, ending the quarter with 450K.
Badoo Dating App: Meet & Date, hailing from the UK, showed a consistent revenue trend, staying within the $18K to $22K range. The app's downloads saw a slight downtrend from 10K to around 7K, while weekly active users remained stable, closing the quarter with 350K.
The Plenty of Fish Dating App did not generate notable revenue, thus the focus shifted to its downloads and user engagement. Downloads dipped from 9K at the start of the quarter to around 6K, with weekly active users seeing a gradual decline from 127K to 118K.
Lastly, Hinge Dating App: Meet People showed an increase in revenue from $46K to $59K over the quarter. Downloads had a high point of 9K in mid-October, then rose again to 8K at the end of December. Weekly active users saw a decline from 279K to 257K.
