In the fourth quarter of 2020, several food and diet tracking applications showcased notable performance on the Android platform in Europe. Data provided by Sensor Tower gives us a closer look at the trends for the top five applications in this category.
YAZIO Food & Calorie Counter experienced a significant spike in downloads, jumping from 46K in the first week of December to a remarkable 303K by the month's end. The app's revenue saw a peak of $251K in the last week of December, while weekly active users rose sharply from 1.38M to over 1.94M during the same period.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter showed a steady revenue stream throughout the quarter, with a slight increase from $72K to $91K between the third week of December and the end of the month. Downloads for the app peaked at 72K in the last week of December, and active users saw a rise from 564K to 741K in the same timeframe.
Lifesum: Healthy Eating & Diet had a consistent flow of revenue, culminating in a high of $93K in the last week of December. Downloads doubled from 26K in mid-December to 121K at the year's close. The application's weekly active users also saw an increase, from 447K in mid-December to 667K by the end of the month.
Fastic: Fasting & Food Tracker observed a revenue growth, with an end-of-year peak at $65K. The app's downloads surged to 156K in the final week of December, while active users almost doubled from 158K in mid-December to 284K by the quarter's end.
BodyFast: Intermittent Fasting also saw an upward trend with revenue increasing to $41K in the last week of December. Downloads climbed significantly from 22K in mid-December to 80K at the end of the month, and the app's weekly active users grew from 103K to 181K during the same period.
