As the year 2020 came to a close, horror game enthusiasts in Europe continued to engage with their favorite spine-chilling titles on Android devices. Sensor Tower's data offers insights into the performance of the top five horror games during the fourth quarter of 2020.
Scary Teacher 3D from Z & K Games held its ground with a steady stream of downloads, peaking at 217K in the last week of December. The game's weekly active users saw a slight uptick, finishing the quarter with 1.72M.
On the other hand, Granny, developed by DVloper, showed an impressive increase in downloads, jumping to over 202K in the final week of December. The active user base also saw significant growth, ending the quarter with nearly 1M weekly active users.
DVloper's sequel, Granny: Chapter Two, experienced a consistent rise in both downloads and active users, with downloads reaching 151K and active users climbing to 862K by the end of December.
The newcomer, My Town Halloween - Ghost game by My Town Games Ltd, made a notable entry with its downloads skyrocketing to 295K in the first full week of December. Although the weekly active users decreased to 105K by the end of the month, the game had a strong start following its November release.
Lastly, Ice Scream 3 from Keplerians Horror Games saw a peak of 99K downloads in the last week of December. The game also ended the year on a high note, with weekly active users reaching over 330K.
Sensor Tower provides more detailed insights into the performance of these horror games and others in the mobile ecosystem. While revenue data was not a highlight for all titles, the download and user engagement trends reflect the continued interest in the horror game genre among European Android users.
