The first quarter of 2021 has seen varying performance among the top food and diet tracking applications in Australia. Sensor Tower's data gives us a glimpse into how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
MyFitnessPal showed a strong start in revenue with USD 85K in the first week of January but experienced a dip towards the end of the quarter, closing at USD 80K in the last week of March. Downloads peaked at 20K in the first week of January, before gradually declining to 10K by the end of March. Weekly active users spiked to 379K in the first week of January, then showed a slight decrease, stabilizing around 338K in the last week of March.
Fastic started the quarter with a revenue of nearly USD 14K and saw a decrease, finishing at USD 8K in the last week of March. Downloads began at 9K in the last week of December and had a downward trend, ending at 2K by March's end. Active users showed a slight drop from 25K to 16K over the quarter.
With no revenue reported, Easy Diet Diary's performance was measured by downloads and weekly active users. Downloads started at 4K in the last week of December and decreased to 2K by the end of March. Active users saw a slight increase from 10K to 10K in early January, followed by a gradual decline to 9K by the quarter's end.
Lose It! showed a revenue increase from USD 6K to USD 8K in the first week of January but then followed a downward trend to USD 4K by March's end. Downloads peaked at 6K in the first week of January, decreasing to 2K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users decreased from 34K to 25K over the same period.
Noom's revenue had a significant increase from USD 793 to USD 6K in early February but saw fluctuations, ending at USD 4K in the last week of March. Downloads decreased from 9K in the last week of December to 3K by the end of March. Weekly active users decreased from 39K to 32K throughout the quarter.
