Sensor Tower's latest data offers an intriguing glimpse into the performance of the top 5 horror game applications in the United States for the first quarter of 2021. Here's how these spine-chilling games fared on the unified iOS and Android platforms.
Granny, a hit horror game by Russian publisher Dennis Vukanovic, maintained a steady player interest throughout the quarter. Although it didn't generate revenue, the game saw its downloads peak at around 133K in late February before tapering down to 77K by the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, starting at over 523K and declining to just over 400K by the quarter's end.
tinyBuild LLC's stealth horror game, Hello Neighbor, generated a moderate revenue stream, earning up to $35K in the last week of December and stabilizing at around $21K by the end of March. Downloads for the game saw a high of 125K in late December, dipping to around 63K in early March, and then bouncing back up to 107K. Weekly active users mirrored this pattern, starting strong at 383K and rising to 355K by the quarter's conclusion.
Scary Teacher 3D, from GenITeam LLC, also saw consistent revenue, with peaks at $8K. Although downloads showed a slight decrease from 105K to 59K, weekly active users remained robust, starting at around 560K and slightly dropping to 474K at the end of Q1.
The sequel to Granny, Granny: Chapter Two, maintained download numbers starting from 76K and ending at 48K in March. The game's weekly active users showed a gradual decrease from 338K to 258K over the quarter.
Lastly, Baldi's Basics Classic had no revenue but consistent downloads, with numbers hovering in the mid-40K range throughout the quarter. Weekly active users began at 237K and experienced a slight increase to 220K by March's end.
