In Q3 2021, the top finance apps in Nigeria on the Android platform demonstrated varied performance trends, highlighting their popularity and user engagement. Here’s a closer look at the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
OPay - Cash rain , Airtime , Transfer , Savings saw a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting at 86K in late June and peaking at 103K in early July. The app experienced a decline to around 45K by late August, followed by a recovery to 85K in mid-September. Active users mirrored this trend, ranging from 758K at the beginning of the quarter to a peak of 785K, with a slight dip to 683K by the end of September.
LCredit-Loan Online & Cash, Anytime exhibited a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at 61K in late June and reaching 77K by early September. Active users also showed a positive trend, growing from 92K in late June to approximately 111K by the end of the quarter.
EaseMoni—Instant loan online launched in late July and quickly gained traction. Downloads surged from 13K in its first week to a peak of 145K by the end of August. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 8.7K in late July and climbing to 216K by the end of September.
PocketApp: Send & Manage Money showed an impressive spike in downloads, from 18K in late July to a peak of 145K in mid-August, before gradually declining to 16K by the end of September. Active users rose significantly from 516 in late June to 217K in mid-August, stabilizing around 81K by the end of the quarter.
FairMoney—Instant loans & more from a digital bank maintained a consistent performance in weekly downloads, starting at 73K in late June, with minor fluctuations, and concluding the quarter at 47K. Active users demonstrated a stable trend, beginning at 456K and ending slightly lower at 430K by late September.
