In Q4 2021, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Nigeria demonstrated notable trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at the performance of these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Bolt: Request a Ride started the quarter with weekly downloads around 42K and saw a peak at approximately 52K in the week of December 20. Active users fluctuated, beginning at 483K, peaking at 554K in late October, and ending the quarter at about 448K.
Uber - Request a ride had a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from 10.8K and reaching a high of 27K in the week of December 20. Active users also showed a positive trend, starting at 541K and peaking at 613K in the same week.
inDrive. Save on city rides experienced moderate growth in weekly downloads, beginning at 5.5K and peaking at around 11.4K in the week of December 20. The app’s active users saw a gradual rise, starting at 126K and reaching a high of 139K in mid-December.
SafeBoda with SafeCar saw a decline in weekly downloads over the quarter, from 4.5K in late September to about 1.2K at the end of December. Active users followed a similar trend, decreasing from 6.8K in late September to approximately 5K by the end of December.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver showed relatively stable weekly downloads, starting at 2.3K and peaking at around 3.1K in mid-December. Active users remained steady, beginning at 23K and reaching up to 24.4K in mid-December.
