In Q4 2021, the top social apps in the United Arab Emirates showed diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a detailed look at how these apps fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.
TikTok experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, with a high of around $879K at the end of September and a slight decline to $744K by the end of December. Downloads for TikTok saw a gradual increase, starting at 53.8K in late September and reaching 68.9K in the final week of December. Active users also showed a positive trend, growing from approximately 4.7M to over 5M throughout the quarter.
Facebook maintained relatively stable weekly revenue, peaking at $20K in late November. Weekly downloads for Facebook varied, starting at 42.8K and peaking at 52.5K in early December. Active users remained consistent, hovering around the 5.8M mark throughout the quarter.
Instagram had modest weekly revenue, with a notable spike to $978 in mid-October. Downloads for Instagram showed an upward trend, starting at 40.2K in late September and reaching 61.6K by the end of December. The number of active users increased slightly from 2.7M to approximately 2.8M over the quarter.
Shorts VotTak: Short Video App showed a significant increase in downloads, starting at 12.1K in late September and rising to 21.4K in mid-December. Active users also demonstrated a positive trend, growing from approximately 32.5K to 59.4K at the end of the quarter.
Likee - Short Video Community had varying weekly revenue, peaking at $15.6K in mid-November. Downloads for Likee saw a gradual increase from 15.2K in late September to 15.9K by the end of December. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 350K to 370K range throughout the quarter.
