In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 navigation apps in Russia exhibited varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a detailed look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
Yandex Maps & Navigator saw a fluctuating weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $10.3K in the first week of January and gradually declining to around $2.8K by the end of March. Weekly downloads started at 217K in late December, dipped to 134K by early March, and then rebounded to about 157K in the final week of the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 8.9M to 9.0M throughout the quarter.
2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation maintained consistent weekly downloads, starting at 155K and ending the quarter at around 123K. Active users showed a gradual increase from 5.4M to 5.4M over the same period.
Yandex Navi – navigation, maps experienced a peak in weekly revenue of approximately $30.4K in early February, before falling to around $8.8K by the end of March. Downloads remained steady, starting at 142K and ending at 130K. Active users saw a slight increase from 4.3M to 3.7M.
Google Maps showed consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 29K to 34K throughout the quarter. Active users peaked at 4.9M in late February and ended the quarter at approximately 4.5M.
Yandex Metro had stable weekly downloads, fluctuating between 33K and 55K. Active users increased from 741K to 790K over the quarter.
