During the first quarter of 2022, the top News and Magazines applications in Mexico exhibited varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at how each app fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.
SkyAlert: Alerta Sísmica saw a significant surge in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads peaked at around 42.3K in late February, followed by another spike to 25.9K in mid-March. Active users mirrored this trend, reaching a high of approximately 93.3K in mid-March. Revenue also increased steadily, peaking at about $15.6K in late March.
REFORMA experienced relatively stable performance throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads hovered around the 400-600 range, with a slight peak at 590 in the last week of March. Revenue showed minor fluctuations, with a high of approximately $5.8K in early January.
EL NORTE had a consistent download rate, ranging between 300 to 500 downloads per week. Revenue saw a notable peak of around $5.1K in early March. Despite these fluctuations, the app maintained a steady presence in the market.
El Universal showed modest performance metrics. Weekly downloads ranged from 260 to 400, with revenue peaking at approximately $728 in mid-February. This consistent performance indicates a stable user base.
Alerta Sísmica México - SASSLA demonstrated impressive growth. Downloads surged to about 49.5K in mid-March, with active users reaching nearly 93.3K during the same period. Revenue also showed a steady increase, peaking at around $1.2K in late March.
