In the second quarter of 2022, the top 5 shopping applications in Ghana exhibited varying trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here's a detailed look at their performance:
Jumia Online Shopping saw a strong start with weekly downloads peaking at 44.2K in early May. However, this number gradually declined, reaching 21.2K by the end of June. Despite the drop in downloads, weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at 541.9K and ending at 490.2K.
Jiji Ghana experienced a decline in weekly downloads throughout the quarter, starting at 28.4K and dropping to 16.3K by the end of June. The active user base showed a slight downward trend, beginning at 196.3K and finishing the quarter at 189.8K.
Alibaba.com displayed a mixed performance in terms of downloads. The app saw a significant increase towards the end of the quarter, with weekly downloads reaching 26.3K in late June. The number of active users followed a similar pattern, rising from 298.6K at the start of the quarter to 388.8K at the end.
Hubtel showed remarkable growth in weekly downloads, especially in late May with a peak of 42.5K. The number of active users also increased significantly, starting at 2.6K and reaching 46.1K by the end of June.
KiKUU: Online Shopping Mall had relatively stable weekly downloads, hovering around 7.3K at the start of the quarter and slightly decreasing to 6.3K by late June. Active users saw a slight decline, starting at 154.2K and ending at 144.2K.
