In the third quarter of 2022, the Middle East saw dynamic trends among the top dating applications on the Android platform. According to Sensor Tower data, the key players included Chamet - Live Video Chat, Azar: Video Chat & Meet People, Hayyakom - Voice Chat Rooms, Dating and Chat - SweetMeet, and MeYo : be friends. Below is a breakdown of their performance in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.
Chamet - Live Video Chat from Chamet Team saw a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $239K in the final week of September. Weekly downloads peaked at approximately 32K in early August and then gradually declined to about 24K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users also showed positive growth, reaching over 122K in mid-September before stabilizing at around 120K by the end of the quarter.
Azar: Video Chat & Meet People by Hyperconnect LLC experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, with a peak of approximately $87K in the last week of September. Weekly downloads saw a decline from around 26K at the start of the quarter to about 16K by the end. However, weekly active users remained relatively high, peaking at around 204K in late June and then slightly declining to approximately 170K by the end of September.
Hayyakom - Voice Chat Rooms from Waha Technology FZ-LLC had an impressive rise in both weekly downloads and active users towards the end of Q3. Weekly downloads surged from about 9K in late June to nearly 57K by the end of September. Similarly, weekly active users increased significantly, reaching nearly 45K by the end of the quarter. Revenue also saw a notable rise, peaking at around $1.1K in mid-September.
Dating and Chat - SweetMeet from SweetMeet showed steady weekly download numbers, peaking at around 20K in mid-September before slightly decreasing to approximately 17K by the end of the month. Weekly revenue remained relatively stable, hovering around $700 towards the end of the quarter. The app's weekly active users increased consistently, reaching about 83K in late September.
MeYo : be friends from MeYo Studio experienced a decline in weekly revenue, starting at around $10.7K in late June and dropping to approximately $8.2K by the end of September. Weekly downloads showed a mixed trend, peaking at around 22K in late June and ending at around 13K. The app's weekly active users fluctuated but showed a positive trend, peaking at about 50K in mid-September.
