During the first quarter of 2023, the air travel app market on the Android platform in South America showcased notable trends and shifts. Here, we explore the performance of the top 5 air travel apps: LATAM Airlines, Flightradar24 Flight Tracker, Azul, GOL | Airline Tickets, and ViajaNet: voos e hotéis.
LATAM Airlines had a dynamic quarter with weekly downloads peaking at approximately 57K in early January and then experiencing some fluctuations, ending Q1 with around 44K downloads. The app also maintained a robust user base, with weekly active users (WAUs) ranging from 231K to 274K throughout the period.
Flightradar24 Flight Tracker reported consistent weekly revenue, peaking at around $4.7K in mid-March. Downloads for the app were relatively steady, with a high of 43K in late December and a low of 20K in mid-March. WAUs for this app ranged from 200K to 235K, indicating a stable user engagement.
Azul saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting from 18K in late December and reaching up to 29K by the end of March. The app's WAUs also showed a gradual increase, ranging from 95K to 109K over the quarter, reflecting growing user interest and engagement.
GOL | Airline Tickets experienced a peak in weekly downloads at approximately 36K in early January, but this number tapered off to about 16K by the end of March. Despite this, the app maintained a substantial number of WAUs, fluctuating between 120K and 156K throughout Q1.
ViajaNet: voos e hotéis showed an impressive growth trajectory in downloads, starting at 11K in late December and surging to 27K by the end of March. The app's WAUs saw significant growth as well, beginning at 24K and reaching up to 66K by the end of the quarter.
