In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 casual games on the Android platform in the United States showcased varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at their performance:
Candy Crush Saga by King continued to lead the casual gaming category with impressive weekly revenue, which started at around $5.6M in the last week of December and gradually declined to approximately $4.7M by the end of March. Weekly downloads saw a peak of about 177K mid-January, dipping to a low of 88K by late February, before recovering to 142K at the end of March. The game maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users fluctuating between 1.4M and 1.7M throughout the quarter.
Royal Match from Dream Games, Ltd. showed consistent performance in terms of weekly revenue, starting at $2.8M and ending the quarter at $2.5M. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a notable spike to 140K in mid-March. Active users steadily increased from 265K to 340K over the quarter, indicating growing engagement.
Subway Surfers by SYBO Games experienced minor fluctuations in weekly revenue, hovering around $15K to $18K. Downloads saw a declining trend initially but showed recovery towards the end of the quarter, starting at 134K and closing at 80K. The game maintained a large active user base, ranging between 2.2M and 2.6M.
Coin Master from Moon Active generated steady weekly revenue, starting at $3.7M and ending at $3.1M. Downloads showed a downward trend, decreasing from 105K to 74K. Active users saw a slight drop from 367K to 417K, with some fluctuations in between.
Among Us by Innersloth LLC had relatively low weekly revenue, averaging around $2.5K to $6.9K. Downloads started at 120K and saw a downward trend, ending at 62K. The game’s active users showed a similar pattern, starting at 607K and closing the quarter at 415K.
