In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 Navigation and Maps apps in Saudi Arabia showed varied performance in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s an overview of how each app fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Google Maps consistently maintained strong weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 58K in the week of March 6. Weekly active users saw a slight fluctuation, ranging from around 4.3M to 4.7M throughout the quarter. Notably, the app did not generate revenue during this period.
Radarbot: Speed Cameras | GPS from Iteration Mobile S.L experienced a peak in weekly revenue at about $12K in late December and again in late February. Downloads showed an initial spike of 33K at the end of December, followed by fluctuations, reaching approximately 23K in early March. Active users ranged from 54K to 82K, with noticeable increases in mid-February.
Google Earth remained stable with weekly downloads between 10K and 13K. Active users remained consistently around the 570K mark, peaking at nearly 590K by the end of March. Similar to Google Maps, Google Earth did not generate revenue during this period.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had a notable peak in weekly downloads, reaching 52K in early January. Active users varied significantly, with a peak of 550K in mid-March. The app did not generate revenue in Q1 2023.
OsmAnd Maps Travel & Navigate from OsmAND B.V. showed modest revenue, peaking at $1.3K at the end of December. Downloads decreased over the quarter, starting at 3.6K in late December and dropping to 1.3K by the end of March. Active users saw a peak of 11K in early February, but gradually declined to around 5.6K by the end of March.
