In Q2 2023, the top five entertainment apps on the Android platform in Latin America showcased notable performance metrics in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. This data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides insights into the market dynamics of these leading apps.
Netflix experienced consistent weekly downloads, starting at 638K in late March and peaking at 820K in mid-June. The app maintained a high level of weekly active users, fluctuating between 42M and 45M throughout the quarter.
Pluto TV: Watch Movies & TV saw a varied download trend, beginning with 1.1M weekly downloads in late March and dropping to 439K by the end of April before recovering to 784K by late June. Active users also showed fluctuations, starting at 3.97M and ending at 3.42M.
ViX: TV, Deportes y Noticias demonstrated a strong performance in weekly revenue, which increased from $66K in late March to a peak of $175K in mid-June. Weekly downloads for the app also increased notably, from 443K to 859K during the same period. Active users showed a steady rise from 4.82M to 5.73M.
Disney+ generated substantial weekly revenue, starting at $439K and reaching $555K by the end of June. Weekly downloads ranged from 460K to 757K, while active users varied between 6.6M and 7.8M, peaking in mid-June.
Star+ recorded steady weekly revenue, beginning at $176K and peaking at $197K in early May. Downloads showed a significant rise from 383K in late March to 652K by mid-June. The app's active users ranged from 7.6M to 9.5M, with noticeable peaks in late April and early June.
