2026 State of Mobile is Live!

During the second quarter of 2023, the top 5 music and podcasts apps on Android in the Dominican Republic showed dynamic trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at their performance.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts exhibited a steady growth in weekly revenue, starting at $169 in late March and peaking at approximately $637 by mid-June. Weekly downloads showed varying trends, ranging from 7.8K to 10.3K, with a notable peak in the week of May 22. Meanwhile, weekly active users fluctuated between 561K and 645K, ending the quarter at 560K.
YouTube Music did not generate any revenue during this period. Weekly downloads ranged from 5.5K to 7.9K, with the highest downloads recorded in mid-April. The app's weekly active users saw a gradual increase, starting at 368K in late March and reaching 401K by early June.
MP3teca also did not report any revenue. Weekly downloads fluctuated between 3.4K and 4.9K, with a noticeable increase towards the end of the quarter. The app's weekly active users showed a consistent rise from 24.1K to 27.3K throughout the quarter.
Download Music Mp3 did not generate revenue either. Weekly downloads displayed a general upward trend, peaking at 4.6K in mid-June. Active users increased from 2.5K in late March to 5.3K by the end of June.
Finally, MP3 Downloader - Music Player recorded minimal revenue, with peaks of $29 in mid-April. Weekly downloads declined over the quarter, starting at 4.1K and dropping to 1.5K by the end of June. Active users also decreased from 18.4K to 10.4K in the same period.
