During the second quarter of 2023, the top 5 shopping apps on the Android platform in Kenya showed varying performance trends. Here’s a closer look at Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace, JUMIA Online Shopping, Kilimall - Affordable Shopping, Copia App, and Queen Mall.
Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace experienced a decline in weekly downloads from 36K at the end of March to around 14K in early June, before rebounding to 20K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users for Alibaba.com remained relatively stable, starting at 488K and ending at 486K.
JUMIA Online Shopping saw a peak in weekly downloads at 35K in early May but faced a significant drop to 9.3K by mid-June. Active users for JUMIA fluctuated, peaking at 254K in early June and closing the quarter at 226K.
Kilimall - Affordable Shopping had a downward trend in weekly downloads from 26K at the beginning of April to around 10K in mid-June, with a slight recovery to 14K by the end of June. Active users for Kilimall decreased from 257K to 200K over the quarter.
Copia App showed a consistent pattern in weekly downloads, ranging between 8.4K and 19.2K, with a slight increase toward the end of June. Weekly active users for Copia increased steadily, from 87K at the end of March to 103K by mid-June, before ending the quarter at 96K.
Queen Mall had relatively stable weekly downloads, fluctuating between 7.6K and 15.3K, and closed the quarter at 9.2K. Active users for Queen Mall increased from 77K at the end of March to 87K by mid-June, then slightly dropped to 81K at the end of June.
