In Q3 2023, the top five education apps on Android in South Africa showcased varying performance trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Domi Kids-Baby Songs & Videos from BabyTiger Kid Apps & Games saw a gradual increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $11 in late July and early August. Downloads reached a high of 24.4K in the week of July 24, while weekly active users grew steadily, peaking at 34.1K in the final week of September.
Chegg Study - Homework Helper by Chegg, Inc. had fluctuating weekly revenue, ranging from approximately $1.1K to $1.8K. Downloads experienced a significant spike, peaking at 20.7K in mid-August, while active users saw a high of 58.2K in mid-July before declining to 21.6K by the end of September.
K53 South Africa maintained stable download numbers, with a slight peak of 12.9K in early July. Active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 20K, with a minor decline to 17.7K in mid-September.
Duolingo: Language Lessons from Duolingo showed consistent weekly revenue, peaking at $4.6K in late July and late August. Downloads fluctuated, with a high of 13.1K in early August. Active users remained stable, averaging around 30K throughout the quarter.
Alison: Online Education App by Alison eLearning had a peak revenue of $2.9K in the last week of September. Downloads peaked at 13.7K in late July but saw a decline to around 4.6K by the end of the quarter. Active users mirrored this trend, peaking at 15.3K in late July and dropping to 7.9K by the end of September.
