The third quarter of 2023 presented interesting trends for the top 5 train games on the Android platform in New Zealand. Here’s a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
Train Station 2: Rail Tycoon from Pixel Federation Games had a fluctuating quarter. Weekly revenue peaked at approximately $915 in late July, while downloads saw a downward trend, dropping from 412 in late June to 117 by the end of September. Active users also decreased over the quarter, from around 1.5K to just over 1K.
Train Simulator: Railroad Game, published by Azur Interactive Games Limited, had modest revenue, with a peak of $21 in early July. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a notable spike to 201 in the final week of September. Active users showed an overall increase, rising from 951 in late June to 994 by the end of September.
Thomas & Friends Minis from Budge Studios experienced a steady performance. Weekly revenue varied, peaking at $65 in early July and ending the quarter at $33. Downloads were stable, with a slight increase from 94 in late June to 94 again in the last week of September. Active users also showed consistency, maintaining around 350-380 throughout the quarter.
Railway Train Simulator Games by GamePark had no revenue reported during the quarter. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 150 in early July and ending at 60 in late September. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 67 and ending at 48.
Thomas & Friends: Magic Tracks, also from Budge Studios, had a varied revenue stream, peaking at $100 in late August. Downloads were relatively stable, with numbers around 50-60 throughout the quarter. Active users saw a slight decline from 178 in late June to 160 by the end of September.
