In Q3 2023, the top 5 navigation apps on the iOS platform in Australia showed varied performance in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Here is a breakdown of their performance:
Google Maps experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, averaging around 30K downloads per week. Notable peaks were observed in the week of July 3 with approximately 36K downloads and the week of September 25 with nearly 38K downloads. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users steadily increasing from around 2.46M at the start of the quarter to approximately 2.55M by the end of September.
Waze saw an overall upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at around 16.4K in late June and peaking at approximately 24.6K by the end of September. The app maintained a consistent number of active users throughout the quarter, fluctuating between 451K and 475K.
Petrol Spy Australia showed a significant rise in weekly downloads, beginning the quarter with about 3.8K downloads and reaching a peak of approximately 10.5K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users also grew steadily, from around 45.3K at the start of the quarter to about 62.8K by the end of September.
EG Club had an interesting performance with a significant spike in downloads in the first week of July, reaching over 33K downloads. However, the downloads saw a sharp decline thereafter, stabilizing around 700-1K downloads per week towards the end of the quarter.
Moovit’s performance was relatively stable with weekly downloads hovering around 5K to 6K throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue showed a peak of approximately $1.2K in mid-August. The app's active users remained steady, averaging around 13K to 14K throughout the quarter.
