Q4 2023 Android MMORPG Performance in the US: A Sensor Tower Report

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the MMORPG landscape on Android devices in the United States showcased some intriguing trends, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here we take a look at the top five MMORPG applications and their performance metrics during this period.

Diablo Immortal, published by Blizzard Entertainment, exhibited a revenue trend with a peak in late December reaching nearly $317K, after a slight dip in previous weeks. Downloads saw an upward trend in early December with over 10K downloads, but ended the quarter with around 5K. Weekly active users peaked at over 60K in mid-December before falling to around 48K by year's end.

The Legend of Neverland, from Ark Games Global, showed a fluctuating revenue pattern, ending the quarter on a high note with approximately $84K. Downloads hit their highest at over 7K in late November, and weekly active users also saw a high of over 53K in the same month.

Jagex Games Studio's RuneScape - Fantasy MMORPG experienced a revenue surge in December, reaching almost $91K. The game's downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight increase to over 1K by the quarter's end. The weekly active users count showcased a high of over 6K in late November.

Another title from Jagex, Old School RuneScape, saw its revenue grow towards the end of the quarter, peaking at over $67K. Downloads were consistent, with a notable jump to over 3K in mid-November. Weekly active users were highest in mid-November at over 24K, tapering to around 22K by the close of Q4.

NCSOFT's Lineage2M reported no new downloads, focusing the performance metrics on revenue and active users. Revenue saw significant growth in late November, reaching almost $100K, before ending the quarter at around $42K. However, the data for weekly active users was not provided.
