As the year 2023 drew to a close, the personal finance category on iOS devices saw varied performances across the leading budgeting and planning applications in Europe. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into the trends of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users for these financial tools during the fourth quarter.
Splitwise, a well-established app for splitting expenses, experienced a revenue increase from 3.6K USD in the last week of September to a peak of 9.3K USD in the final week of December. Downloads saw a decline from 64K in late September to 29K in mid-December, before a spike to 61K coinciding with the holiday season. Weekly active users showed a downward trend, dropping from 185K in late September to 149K by the year's end.
Tricount - Split group bills similarly saw a rise in revenue from 1.2K USD to 1.2K USD over the same period. Its download numbers started at 42K, dipped to 28K in mid-October, and surged to a notable 69K in the last week of December. The app's active users declined from 144K to 142K by the close of the quarter.
For Paylib, le paiement mobile, revenue data was not applicable, but downloads began at 31K, saw a rise to 40K in early December, and ended at 31K. The weekly active users showed an upward trend, starting at 43K and growing to 60K by early December, before a slight decline to 51K by year's end.
Monefy: Money Tracker witnessed its revenue fluctuate, starting at 3.2K USD and reaching 4.7K USD in the holiday season. Download figures for the app declined from 17K to 8K in mid-December, but recovered to 11K in the final week. Active users of Monefy followed a downward trajectory from 85K in late September to 77K at the end of the quarter.
Lastly, Finanzguru - Konten & Verträge, showed impressive revenue growth from 60K USD to 74K USD, before stabilizing around 55K USD in late December. Downloads for Finanzguru saw an initial decrease from 12K to 9K in early November, followed by a rise to 17K in the final week. The app's active users experienced a dip from 113K to 103K in mid-December, but saw an upturn to 129K by the end of the year.
