As Q4 of 2023 wrapped up, the sports gaming landscape on mobile platforms witnessed varying performances among the top contenders. Sensor Tower's data provides us with insights into how these apps fared in the United States during this period.

Retro Bowl College, despite being a newcomer released in September, showed a strong start with downloads peaking at 775K in its release week but then saw a gradual decline to just under 100K by year-end. The weekly active users followed a similar trajectory, starting at over 1.3M and tapering off to slightly above 1M. Revenue started at around $211K and fluctuated, ending the quarter at approximately $61K.

8 Ball Pool™ remained a popular choice, with weekly downloads hovering between 139K and 261K, the latter being the highest at the year's close. The game's revenue showed a healthy pattern, starting at $487K and reaching up to $603K mid-quarter, before settling at $573K in the final week. This pool simulation game maintained a solid base of weekly active users, starting at around 2.1M and peaking at over 2.1M towards the end of Q4.

The stalwart Madden NFL 24 Mobile Football from Electronic Arts displayed a strong performance with fluctuating revenues, peaking at $882K, and closing the quarter at $811K. Downloads for this American football favorite were consistent, ranging from 115K to 204K. The app's weekly active users saw a steady rise from 699K to 882K in the final week.

Another title from New Star Games, Retro Bowl, experienced a steady decline in downloads from 140K to 115K, with weekly active users decreasing from 1.6M to 1.2M. Revenue for Retro Bowl started at around $132K and saw a dip to $79K by the end of December.

Finally, EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile Soccer kicked off the quarter with a robust $887K in revenue and concluded with $857K. The game, however, saw a decrease in downloads from 225K to 132K and a significant drop in weekly active users from 7.6M to 4.2M.
