In the first quarter of 2024, the Android insurance app landscape in the United States saw varied performance among the top players, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's a snapshot of how five leading insurance apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Progressive showed a steady increase in downloads starting at 49K in the first week of January and peaking at 61K by the end of February. Weekly active users began at 513K and saw a rise to 555K by the end of February, maintaining a steady base above 540K in March.
UnitedHealthcare kicked off the quarter with a high of 98K downloads but experienced a decline over the following weeks, stabilizing around 40K towards the end of March. Its weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting at 155K and decreasing to 114K by the quarter's end.
State Farm® downloads fluctuated throughout the quarter, with an initial 32K in January, a mid-quarter spike to 35K, and leveling out at 31K in the last week of March. The app's weekly active users saw a slight dip from 227K to 225K over the same period.
Drive Safe & Save™ had a stable quarter with downloads hovering around 27K-31K. Weekly active users showed a slight decrease from 1.25M in the first week of January to 1.22M at the quarter's end.
Sydney Health experienced a gradual decline in downloads, decreasing from 51K in the first week of January to 19K by late February before slightly recovering to 19K in March. Weekly active users saw a corresponding decrease from 94K to 65K throughout the quarter.
