In the first quarter of 2024, the top dining and restaurant applications in Germany demonstrated varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active user metrics. Here’s a closer look at the trends for the leading apps in this category.
JOURNAL-App from Presse Verlagsgesellschaft mbH saw significant fluctuations in weekly revenue. Starting at $96 in the first week of January, it peaked at around $2.7K in the second week, before experiencing a decline and stabilizing around $1.8K by the end of March. Weekly downloads for the app were relatively low, with the highest being 21 in the week of February 19.
HappyCow - Vegan Food Near You showed a consistent increase in weekly revenue, reaching $485 in the week of March 18. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at 784 in the first week of January and maintaining a steady number above 500 through most of the quarter. The app also had a stable active user base, starting at 2.6K and peaking at 2.6K again in mid-March.
FRANKFURT GEHT AUS! also from Presse Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, experienced a steady weekly revenue stream, peaking at $347 in mid-February. However, weekly downloads showed a downward trend, starting at 80 in early January and dropping to 33 by the end of March.
Slow Food Genussführer from Slow Food Deutschland e. V. saw modest weekly revenue, peaking at $283 in mid-March. The app’s weekly downloads were generally low, with a notable peak of 22 in the week of February 19.
Untappd: Find Beer You'll Love from Untappd, Inc had a diverse performance. Weekly revenue fluctuated, peaking at $277 in the second week of January. Downloads saw a significant spike to 1.4K in mid-February, maintaining high numbers around 890 by the end of March. The app’s active user base remained robust, peaking at 5.1K in the first week of January and stabilizing around 4.9K in mid-March.
