In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 education apps in Europe showed varied performance metrics in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at their trends:
Duolingo - Language Lessons saw a significant start to the quarter with weekly revenue peaking at around $4.6M in the first week of January. However, this figure declined to approximately $2.3M by the end of March. Weekly downloads exhibited minor fluctuations, starting at 934K and ending at 709K. Active users showed a more stable trend, maintaining around 15.6M throughout the quarter.
Babbel - Language Learning experienced a steady decline in weekly revenue from $802K in early January to about $578K by the end of March. Downloads also followed a downward trajectory, starting at 152K and concluding at 89K. Active users hovered around 424K in the beginning but dipped to approximately 361K towards the end of the quarter.
For Simply Piano: Learn Piano Fast, the weekly revenue started at $719K and gradually decreased to around $354K by late March. Downloads saw a similar trend, dropping from 136K to 81K. Active users started at 501K and ended at approximately 354K.
Toca Boca World had a varied performance with weekly revenue starting at $933K, dipping mid-quarter, and ending at around $665K. Downloads started at 507K and ended at 336K. Active users saw fluctuations, starting at 7.4M, decreasing mid-quarter, but recovering to about 6.5M by the end of March.
Lastly, Blinkist: Book Summaries Daily showed a decline in weekly revenue from $322K to about $220K. Downloads were relatively low, starting at 52K and ending at 38K. Active users remained stable, starting at 342K and ending at approximately 303K.
