In Q1 2024, the top 5 education apps in the US demonstrated varied trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Duolingo - Language Lessons started strong with a peak weekly revenue of approximately $6.2M in the first week of January, but it experienced a gradual decline, ending the quarter around $3.3M. Weekly downloads showed fluctuations, peaking at 425K in early January and settling at 296K by the end of March. The app maintained a relatively stable number of weekly active users, hovering around 8.5M throughout the quarter.

Babbel - Language Learning saw its highest weekly revenue of $936K at the start of January, which gradually decreased to approximately $593K by the end of March. Weekly downloads also declined from 83K to 51K over the same period. The number of weekly active users showed a similar downward trend, starting at 148K and ending at 118K.
