The first quarter of 2024 saw notable performances from the top 5 entertainment apps in Costa Rica. Here’s a detailed look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user trends.
Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies, launched by WarnerMedia Global Digital Services, LLC on February 27, 2024, showed impressive numbers. Weekly revenue peaked at around $62K in early March, before dipping to $45K mid-month and then rising to $60K by the end of March. Downloads started strong at 33.6K, peaked at 38.9K by the end of March, while active users soared from 29.3K to 126K over the quarter.
Tubi: Movies & Live TV maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 11K in early January and reaching 10.3K by the end of March. Active users showed minor fluctuations, beginning at 82.9K and ending at 83.4K.
ViX: TV, Fútbol y Noticias from Univision Communications Inc. experienced steady weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $6.9K in late February. Downloads were highest in early February at 13.3K, ending the quarter at 7.2K. Active users varied, starting at 178K, peaking at 187K in mid-February, and finishing at 171K.
Netflix saw fluctuating weekly revenue, peaking at $6.2K in late February. Downloads started at 10.1K in early January, dropped to 6.5K by late February, and then rose to 8K by the end of March. Active users had a slight decline from 512K to 470K over the quarter.
TikTok exhibited strong revenue performance, peaking at around $68K in early March. Weekly downloads started at 34K in early January and saw a decline to 29.4K by the end of March. Active users consistently increased from 1.24M to 1.33M over the quarter.
