The first quarter of 2024 has been eventful for the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) category in the United States. Data from Sensor Tower reveals how the top five MOBA applications have fared on the unified iOS and Android platform.
Supercell's Brawl Stars showed a significant uptrend in revenue, peaking at $2.9M in the last week of March, while downloads and weekly active users also saw an upward trajectory, reaching 267K downloads and 7.6M active users respectively.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang experienced fluctuations in its revenue, with a notable rise to $839K in early March, before settling at $758K by the month's end. Downloads remained consistent around the 20K-30K mark, while active users saw a peak of 724K in late February.
For Pokémon UNITE, revenue trends were modest with the highest week reaching just under $160K. Downloads witnessed a high point of 39K in late February, with weekly active users peaking at 275K during the same period.
Riot Games' League of Legends: Wild Rift's revenue showed a mid-quarter spike, recording $571K in mid-January. Downloads hovered around the 15K-17K range weekly, and the weekly active users count remained relatively stable, ending the quarter at 211K.
Lastly, Arena of Valor had modest revenue figures that did not exceed $16K in any given week. Downloads saw a rise in mid-February, reaching 10.8K, and weekly active users had a small uptick to 44.7K in the same month.
