Shopping apps have become integral to consumer habits, and the first quarter of 2024 has seen significant activity across Europe's top platforms. Sensor Tower has compiled data on the performance of the five leading shopping apps, providing insights into their downloads and weekly active users.

Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire kicked off the year with impressive download numbers, starting at 2.8M in the first week of January and peaking at 3M in the second week. Although there was a gradual decline to 2.1M by mid-March, downloads rebounded to 2.3M by the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar trajectory, surging from 22.8M to a peak of 26.3M.

SHEIN - Shopping Online also saw a robust trend in downloads, beginning at 1M and accelerating to nearly 1.9M by the end of March. This growth was mirrored in the app's active users, which grew from 22.1M to an impressive 33.7M, indicating a strong user engagement.

Lidl Plus, the digital arm of the discount supermarket chain, maintained steady download figures, hovering around 600K to 700K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users showed consistent growth, starting at 11.1M and increasing to over 12.6M.

Vinted: Sell vintage clothes experienced a slight fluctuation in downloads, with a high of 714K in early February and a low of 571K in early March. However, weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at 13.6M and ending the quarter at 13.7M.

Lastly, the AliExpress Shopping App observed a dip in downloads from 612K to 437K between January and February, but the trend reversed in March, ending the quarter at 611K. The app's active user base had a slight dip mid-quarter but recovered to reach over 20.9M by the third week of March.
