In Q1 2024, the top 5 social networking apps in Mexico demonstrated diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users according to data from Sensor Tower.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads ranging from 540K to 707K. Weekly active users showed a steady increase from approximately 70.9M to 72.9M, peaking mid-March before a slight decline to 72.6M by the end of the quarter.
Facebook experienced fluctuations in both downloads and revenue. Weekly downloads saw a significant spike in early March, reaching 942K, while weekly revenue varied between $33K and $40K. Active users consistently hovered around 88M to 90M throughout the quarter.
Messenger observed a notable increase in weekly downloads, particularly in March, with numbers peaking at 419K. Revenue showed modest gains, with weekly figures ranging from $138 to $227. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 20.7M and 21.1M.
Threads, an Instagram app gained traction with a steady rise in downloads, especially in mid-March, reaching 341K. Active users also saw a significant increase from 3.3M to 4.7M by the end of the quarter, highlighting growing user engagement.
Telegram Messenger maintained consistent weekly downloads around the 240K to 285K range. Revenue peaked at $24K in late February, with active users remaining stable around 3.2M to 3.3M throughout the quarter.
