During the second quarter of 2024, the top 5 entertainment apps on Android in Europe showcased notable trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Data from Sensor Tower reveals the following insights for YouTube Kids, Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies.
YouTube Kids observed a consistent download trend, starting with 310K downloads in early April and maintaining a range between 266K to 310K throughout the quarter. Active users fluctuated slightly but remained strong, closing at 9.5M by the end of June.
Disney+ saw weekly revenue oscillate between $2.8M and $3.4M, peaking at $3.4M in late June. Downloads ranged from 177K to 269K, with a notable increase in June. Active user numbers experienced minor dips but stayed around the 9M to 10M mark.
Netflix maintained steady download numbers, averaging around 200K weekly. Active users hovered around 21M, with slight fluctuations but no significant drops, demonstrating a consistent user base.
Amazon Prime Video experienced a gradual increase in revenue, starting at $975K in early April and peaking at $1.2M by late June. Downloads varied from 165K to 244K, while active users ranged between 5.3M and 5.8M, indicating a stable engagement rate.
Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies showed impressive growth, with revenue rising from $5.9K in mid-May to $351K by the end of June. Downloads surged from 92K to 495K during the same period. Active users also saw a significant increase, reaching over 1M by late June.
