In the second quarter of 2024, the top food delivery apps on the Android platform in Nigeria exhibited varied performance trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at how Glovo: Food Delivery and More, Chowdeck | Food Delivery, MANO food & products delivery, FoodCourt: Food Delivery+, and Gokada superapp performed during this period.

Glovo: Food Delivery and More experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting with around 12.5K in early April and peaking at 14.5K by the end of the month. The app maintained a steady download rate, averaging around 12K to 13K through to the end of June. Weekly active users also showed a consistent trend, beginning at 77K in early April and rising to approximately 84K by the end of June.

Chowdeck | Food Delivery saw a significant increase in downloads, especially in late April and May, where it jumped from 4K to nearly 10K. Despite a slight decline in June, the app maintained a healthy download rate. Active user numbers reflected this trend, starting at 51K and peaking at 65K towards the end of May, before stabilizing around 61K by the end of June.

MANO food & products delivery had a modest but steady performance in downloads, ranging from 1.6K to just over 2.4K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a similar pattern, beginning at around 11.8K in early April and fluctuating slightly to end at about 12K by late June.

FoodCourt: Food Delivery+ experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, particularly in late April where it surged from 273 to 1.6K. The app continued to perform well in May with downloads exceeding 2K, and maintained this momentum through June, closing the quarter at around 2.5K.

Lastly, the Gokada superapp showed a stable but lower download rate compared to its peers. Weekly downloads hovered around 1K, with minor fluctuations throughout the quarter, ending at approximately 792 downloads in the final week of June.
