In the second quarter of 2024, the US Android shopping app landscape showcased notable user engagement and download trends, with data sourced from Sensor Tower providing insightful benchmarks.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire maintained a steady influx of downloads, peaking at 9K in mid-April before tapering to just over 5K by the end of June. Weekly active users (WAUs) saw an upward trend, climbing from 68K to over 76K in the same period.
SHEIN-Shopping Online experienced fluctuations in downloads, with a high of around 3K in early April, dropping to 2K towards June. The WAUs mirrored this pattern somewhat, starting at 40K, dipping in mid-quarter, and slightly rebounding to 39K by quarter's end.
Lidl Plus downloads saw a spike of 4K in mid-April, followed by a gradual decline to just over 2K. The app's WAUs presented a more positive picture, with an impressive increase from 84K to 93K in early June, though this dipped to around 84K in the final week of the quarter.
Vinted - Buy and sell clothes showed a downward trajectory in downloads, starting at approximately 2.5K and ending the quarter just under 1K. The WAUs for Vinted, however, told a different story, with an increase from roughly 24K to over 25K, indicating a growing core user base.
Lastly, Netto+ | Scan&Go downloads hovered around the 1K mark throughout the quarter, with a notable dip to just over 1K by the end of June. Active users for Netto+ remained fairly stable, with a slight decrease from 11K to 9K over the three-month period.
