In the second quarter of 2024, the top 5 shopping applications on the Android platform in Latin America exhibited varied performance metrics in terms of weekly downloads and active users. This data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides valuable insights into the market trends for these leading apps.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire showed a remarkable increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 1.6M in early April and climbing to nearly 3.5M by the end of June. Concurrently, weekly active users rose steadily from about 8.7M to over 13.9M throughout the quarter.
SHEIN-Shopping Online also experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, beginning with around 1.4M in the first week of April and peaking at over 2M in mid-May. The app maintained a high level of weekly active users, starting at 25.3M and reaching approximately 27.4M by the end of June.
Mercado Libre: Compras online saw consistent weekly downloads, fluctuating between 898K and 1.4M throughout the quarter. Weekly active users remained robust, starting at 35.2M and slightly increasing to about 35.3M by the end of June.
Shopee: 9.9 Super Shopping Day had stable weekly downloads, ranging from 443K to 718K. The app's weekly active users showed slight variations but generally hovered around 25.6M to 26.9M during the quarter.
Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace demonstrated consistent weekly downloads, starting at 484K and peaking at 548K in early June. Weekly active users for the app remained relatively steady, starting at 7M and slightly decreasing to about 6.9M by the end of June.
