During the second quarter of 2024, the top 5 shopping apps on Android in Saudi Arabia exhibited diverse trends in downloads and active user engagement. Here, we break down the performance of each app based on the data provided by Sensor Tower.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire saw a significant fluctuation in weekly downloads. Starting strong with approximately 242K downloads in the first week of April, the app experienced a peak in late April and early May, hitting around 298K downloads. However, by the end of June, downloads dropped to about 77K. Despite the decline in downloads, active users remained relatively stable, peaking at 2.2M in early May and ending the quarter at around 1.95M.
SHEIN-Shopping Online demonstrated impressive download numbers early in the quarter, with a peak of around 283K downloads in mid-April. However, a gradual decline was observed, with downloads falling to approximately 56K by the last week of June. Active users mirrored this trend, starting at about 2.47M and reaching a high of 3.2M in late April, before stabilizing around 2.84M towards the quarter's end.
Trendyol - Online Alışveriş experienced moderate download activity throughout the quarter. The app saw a peak of around 149K downloads in late April, but this number gradually decreased to about 68K by the end of June. Active users showed a steady trend, starting at approximately 429K and fluctuating slightly to end the quarter at around 432K.
noon Shopping, Food, Grocery maintained a consistent download rate, with weekly downloads ranging between 43K and 52K. Active users showed a slight decline from around 1.02M in early April to approximately 1.05M by the end of June, indicating steady user engagement despite the minor fluctuations in download numbers.
Amazon Shopping had a stable download performance, with weekly downloads hovering around the 38K to 44K range. Revenue for Amazon Shopping showed a slight increase over the quarter, starting at approximately $9.3K and ending at about $8.7K. Active users remained relatively consistent, beginning at around 651K and finishing the quarter at approximately 626K.
