In the second quarter of 2024, the UK's insurance app landscape on iOS saw varying trends in user engagement and downloads, according to the latest data from Sensor Tower. Here's a look at how the top five insurance applications performed during this period.
Hastings Direct Insurance experienced a steady increase in downloads, starting at around 12K in early April and peaking at over 16K in early June. Weekly active users also saw a general upward trend, from approximately 39K to over 45K by the end of June.
Admiral Insurance witnessed a similar pattern, with downloads initially at approximately 13K and reaching around 14K by June. The app's weekly active users started at roughly 77K, dipped in mid-April, but rose to peak at over 80K twice in the quarter.
For Bupa Touch, downloads fluctuated, with a notable drop to around 10K in late May, then a rebound to roughly 13K in early June, before falling to 9.5K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users consistently increased, starting at over 100K and reaching up to approximately 122K.
Cuvva downloads varied throughout the quarter, with an initial figure of around 8.7K, a mid-quarter spike to nearly 10.5K, and a slight decrease to just over 9K by late June. Weekly active users showed a modest increase from 20K to nearly 22K.
Lastly, MyAviva saw its downloads begin at about 6.9K, with occasional peaks and troughs, ending the quarter at around 7K. Weekly active users were stable, starting at nearly 20K and maintaining a level just above that throughout the quarter.
