During the second quarter of 2024, the landscape of iOS navigation apps in the United Arab Emirates showcased interesting trends. Here, we delve into the performance of the top five navigation apps: Google Maps, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, Yango Maps, S'hail, and Qibla Finder Compass 100%.
Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 14.1K to 19.4K. Active users remained robust, starting at 971K in early April and peaking at around 1M during mid-April and mid-June.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced variable download rates, with a notable spike to 14.3K in mid-April. Active user numbers showed a slight increase, beginning at 268K and reaching 293.9K mid-quarter, before stabilizing around 277K by the end of June.
Yango Maps saw its weekly downloads peak at 6.9K in mid-April but then experienced a decline, ending the quarter with approximately 1.4K downloads.
S'hail had its highest weekly downloads at 4.7K in mid-April, with a gradual decrease to around 1.2K by the end of June. Active user counts followed a similar trend, starting at 15.6K and peaking at 21.1K mid-April before settling at roughly 15.9K.
Qibla Finder Compass 100% displayed consistent revenue generation, with weekly earnings ranging from $697 to $1.9K. Downloads saw a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 1.8K. Active users also showed steady engagement, fluctuating between 5K and 5.8K throughout the quarter.
