The second quarter of 2024 saw significant activity in the Turkish entertainment app market. Here’s a look at the performance of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
WePlay (ويبلاي) - Game & Chat from WEJOY PTE. LTD. experienced fluctuating weekly revenue, starting at $116K in early April and peaking at $133K in the second week before gradually declining to $91K by the end of June. Weekly downloads mirrored this trend, starting strong at 146K, peaking at 199K, and then falling to 131K in the final week. Active users showed a slight decline from 890K to 710K mid-quarter but rebounded to over 1M by June's end.
YouTube Kids by Google maintained a steady download rate, with weekly figures fluctuating between 77K and 105K. Active users increased from 656K in early April to 741K by the end of June, indicating growing engagement with the app.
Netflix, from Netflix, Inc., saw relatively stable weekly revenue, averaging around $12K, with slight peaks at $16K. Downloads ranged from 61K to 87K throughout the quarter, while active users grew from 2.4M to 2.8M, showing a consistent user base.
The Turkish app tabii, published by Turkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu, had a notable increase in downloads toward the end of the quarter, rising from 59K in early April to over 223K in June. Active users also saw significant growth, starting at 765K and reaching nearly 1.1M by the end of June.
TikTok from TikTok Ltd. maintained impressive revenue figures, ranging from $223K to $279K weekly. Downloads remained consistently high, fluctuating between 230K and 322K. Active users grew from 37.1M to over 40.2M, demonstrating TikTok's strong presence in the Turkish market.
