In the second quarter of 2024, the fast food and fast casual restaurant category witnessed interesting trends in app performance on the unified platform, combining data from both iOS and Android devices. Sensor Tower provides a detailed look into how these apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
McDonald’s - Non-US saw a steady stream of downloads, beginning the quarter with 3.1K and peaking at 3.7K towards the end. Weekly active users started at 48K and experienced a significant increase to 60K in the final weeks of the quarter.
Espresso House, on the other hand, had a fluctuating download count, initially at 1.5K, spiking to 3.2K, and then dropping to 1.8K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users mirrored this volatility, with numbers ranging from 25K to 29K.
Burger King® Norge maintained a consistent download rate, hovering around 1.4K at the start and then ascending to 2.4K. Their weekly active users remained stable, with a slight uptick from 2.1K to just under 2K throughout the quarter.
JOE & THE JUICE experienced an upward trend in downloads, starting at 728 and surging to 3.2K in early June, then settling at 1.6K. Weekly active users began at 929, peaked at 2.9K, and closed the quarter at around 1.8K.
Finally, Domino's Pizza Norway presented a mixed pattern in downloads with an initial 832, a spike to 2.6K in mid-April, and a gradual decline to 1K. Their weekly active user base started low at 63, peaked at 94, and experienced a dramatic increase to 571 by the end of June.
