As the world continues to prioritize health and fitness, mobile apps in this category have seen varied performance in the second quarter of 2024. Sensor Tower's analysis provides a look into the top five fitness and weight loss applications on the unified iOS and Android platforms in the United States. Here's how they fared:
Step Counter - Pedometer by Hitchhike Tech showed a fluctuating download trend, starting at 19K in the first week of April and peaking at 44K towards the end of that month. Weekly active users saw a steady increase from 91K to a peak of 145K before stabilizing around 133K by the end of June.
EZ Health's Weight Loss for Women: Workout experienced a similar pattern in downloads, with an initial 20K in April, a surge to 45K, and then a dip to 22K by June's end. Active users started strong at 196K, peaked at 256K in late April, and then slightly decreased to 254K by the quarter's close.
Home Workout - No Equipment from Leap Fitness Group, showed a mixed bag in downloads, with an initial 27K, a surprising jump to 45K in the first week of May, and then a drop back to 22K. Revenue trends were more consistent, with growth from $1.2K to $2.3K over the quarter. Weekly active users demonstrated a gradual increase from 139K to 181K in May, then a slight decline to 146K.
Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co.,Ltd's Mi Fitness (Xiaomi Wear) maintained a steady download figure around the 20K mark, with a peak at 30K in early May. Active users saw a healthy climb from 211K to a peak of 238K in mid-May, ending the quarter at 228K.
Lastly, Wearfit Pro by Wakeup started the quarter with downloads at 21K, peaking at 24K in early April, then descending to 15K. Its revenue figures remained modest, ranging from $348 to $285 throughout the quarter. Active users showed a slight increase from 182K to 192K in the second week of April, but generally hovered around the 167K mark by the end of June.
