In the third quarter of 2024, the top education apps on the Android platform in the United States showed intriguing trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of these leading apps, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Duolingo: Language Lessons maintained a strong presence with consistent weekly revenue, peaking at around $768K by the end of September. Downloads fluctuated throughout the quarter, reaching a high of approximately 140K in the week of August 26. The app's active user base remained robust, hovering around 2.7M towards the end of the quarter.
Gauth: AI Study Companion saw a notable rise in downloads, peaking at roughly 288K in late September. Its revenue increased steadily, reaching over $4K per week by the end of the quarter. Active users also surged, growing from about 48K at the start of July to over 354K by September’s close.
ClassDojo experienced a significant boost in revenue starting from mid-July, peaking at nearly $395K in August before a gradual decline. Downloads saw a similar trend, with a high of over 144K in mid-August. Active users saw impressive growth, topping over 2.2M by the quarter's end.
PictureThis - Plant Identifier showed a steady decrease in revenue, with figures falling to approximately $144K by late September. Downloads followed a downward trend, dropping from over 61K at the start of July to around 30K by the end of the quarter. The app's active user count also fell, concluding the quarter with about 421K.
Remind: School Communication had a surge in downloads, peaking at over 100K in mid-August. Active users consistently rose, reaching a peak of approximately 1.6M in early September before a slight decline towards the quarter's end.
