During the third quarter of 2024, the Australian entertainment app market on the Android platform showcased diverse trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. According to Sensor Tower, the top five apps were 9Now, Disney+, 10 play, Paramount+, and 7plus.
9Now experienced a significant surge in weekly downloads, peaking at 109K in late July before declining, then rebounding slightly to 15K by the end of September. Active users mirrored this trend, reaching over 307K in late July and stabilizing around 118K towards the quarter's end.
Disney+ maintained strong weekly revenue, consistently generating around $390K with a peak of $505K in late September. Downloads fluctuated slightly, with figures ranging from 11K to 19K weekly. Active user numbers initially declined but recovered to over 530K by the end of the quarter.
10 play saw variations in weekly downloads, with a notable peak of 28K in mid-August. Active users experienced a similar pattern, peaking at 175K in August and settling at around 134K by the end of September.
Paramount+ recorded steady revenue growth, starting at approximately $91K and rising to $114K by late September. The app's downloads showed an upward trend, particularly in August, peaking at 21K. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 71K and 83K throughout the quarter.
Finally, 7plus experienced a gradual increase in downloads, culminating in a peak of 37K in late September before dropping to 11K. Active user numbers saw a significant spike to 129K in September, followed by a decrease to 47K by the quarter's end.
