Top 5 Entertainment Apps on Android in Russia, Q3 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, the top entertainment apps on the Android platform in Russia demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

VK Video: shows, films, series saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, beginning at around 93K in early July and peaking at nearly 389K in mid-September. The app's weekly active users also showed a positive trend, growing from approximately 1.1M at the start of the quarter to over 2M by the end of September.

For Кинопоиск: кино и сериалы, weekly downloads maintained a relatively stable range, fluctuating between 85K and 119K throughout the quarter. The number of active users remained consistent, with slight variations, ranging from about 1.6M to 1.7M.

However, active users grew from about 1.4M in early July to over 1.8M in mid-August, before stabilizing around 1.6M by the end of September.

WePlay: Играй и Общайся! had a downward trend in downloads, starting from approximately 96K in early July and decreasing to around 55K by mid-September, before slightly rebounding to over 71K by the end of the month. The app's active user base, however, showed growth, starting at around 574K and rising to 774K by the end of the quarter.

Lastly, Okko - movies & series online saw a varied pattern in downloads, with a notable dip to around 66K in late July but recovering to over 90K by the end of September. Active users initially decreased from 465K to around 277K by the end of July, but they later increased to approximately 382K by the end of the quarter.
