In the third quarter of 2024, the finance app landscape on Android in Sweden showcased notable trends in downloads and active user engagement. This analysis, powered by Sensor Tower data, provides a closer look at the top five finance applications.
Google Wallet maintained a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 4.3K by the end of September. The app also saw a consistent rise in weekly active users, starting at around 154K in early July and reaching over 183K by the quarter's end.
Revolut: Spend, Save, Trade experienced growth in weekly downloads, which rose from around 2.7K to nearly 3.8K by the end of September. Weekly active users also followed an upward trajectory, increasing from 67.5K to approximately 75.7K over the quarter.
The BankID security app saw a moderate increase in weekly downloads, with numbers ranging from about 2.7K to 3.4K. Its weekly active users showed a significant increase, starting at over 2.5M in early July and peaking at around 2.7M by late September.
Swish payments demonstrated variable download patterns, beginning at 2.6K and reaching up to 3.4K during the quarter. The app's weekly active users rose steadily from 769K to 861K, indicating strong user engagement.
Finally, Swedbank private reported a stable download rate with weekly numbers hovering around 2.2K to 2.6K. The app's active user base showed a gradual increase, starting at 340K and reaching approximately 346K by the end of September.
